Rahul Dravid : the most intelligent Indian Cricketer !

March 30th 2008 07:50
[Rahul Dravid, the wall, has entered into the elite club of few who have scored more than 10000 runs. Most of the runs scored by dravid were under extreme and adverse conditions. But for some strange reasons his achievements have always been downplayed.Sometimes for some genuine reasons but mostly they are for keeping the god-like status of Sachin Tendulkar intact.Rahul Dravid is the most intelligent Indian Cricketer after Ravi Shastri. As far as cricketing brain is concerned, there is no match of Rahul Dravid.

No other Indian cricketer has been as unselfish as Rahul Dravid. He has played the most difficult role for the team and always kept Teams' interest above his own personal millstones. But as an ungrateful Indian we tend to dump and forget our heroes very quickly. The treatment he was given is shameful.

We are all going ga-ga over the achievement of our younger team. But here we again forget that the major contribution of the win was from senior members of the team.We have found Ishant Sharma and Rohit Sharma as the future star of Indian Cricket but they have just started and they have to prove their worth consistently over a longer period of time before they can be compared with our senior pro.

The most disappointing behaviour in this period is of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The success and adulation has gone in his head and he utters the word which no sensible person would speak in public. He has every right to bask in the glory but he has no right to belittle our legend. He was subtly snubbed by Sharad Pawar when he revealed that Dhoni got the job courtesy Sachin Tendulkar.

My impression about Dhoni is based upon media reports which can be contrary to the actual truth.I hope it is not true because we can not afford to loose Dhoni, like Vinod Kambli or Sanjay Manjrekar who could not translate even 10 percent of their talent into worthwhile achievement.
