Cricketing Brain - June 2008

Rajasthan Royals, led astutely by Shane Warne, held its nerve at the critical moment and stole the single off the last ball of the over to emerge victorious of the first edition of the Indian Premier League.
This victory has magnified the image of Shane Warne manifold. All the pundits are in unison in this regard and consider "Warnie"style of motivating-captain-ship behind the success of the least fancied side of the tournament.
The success of Rajasthan Royals has thrown out many great future prospects for India.Nobody knew about Asondkar and Trivedy but they are firmly on the horizon now.
Shane Watson, with his astounding performence, has emerged the biggest star and he will be a key player to establish Australia as a major twenty20 International force in the very near future.Yousuf Pathan is the next big thing of Indian Cricket.
It is such a sad thing that the genius of Warni was not utilised properly by Cricket Australia.Whatever be the reason,Warne should have been made the captain of team.He would certainly would have taken Cricket Australia to greater heights.
